How to Make the Best Nutella Brownies
1. Brown the Butter
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Keep cooking until it turns golden and smells nutty. Remove from the heat and let it cool until warm, not hot.
2. Mix the Sugars and Butter
In a bowl, whisk the warm brown butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth and glossy.
3. Add the Eggs and Vanilla
Whisk in the eggs one at a time. Add the extra yolk and vanilla, then mix until the batter looks thick and shiny.
4. Add the Nutella
Whisk in the Nutella until fully smooth and combined.
5. Add the Dry Ingredients
Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold gently into the batter just until no dry spots remain. Do not overmix.
6. Assemble and Swirl
Pour half of the batter into a lined pan. Spoon half of the warmed Nutella on top. Add the remaining batter and finish with the rest of the Nutella.
Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl.
7. Bake
Bake at 175°C / 350°F for 22 to 28 minutes, until the edges are set and the center still looks slightly soft.
Sprinkle with flaky salt while warm if using. Let cool for at least 1 hour before slicing.

Troubleshooting
· My brownies are dry
They were baked too long. Remove them when the center still looks slightly underbaked.
· My brownies are cakey
The batter was overmixed or baked too long. Fold gently and stop mixing as soon as the flour disappears.
· My Nutella swirl sank
The Nutella was too cold. Warm it slightly so it stays on top and swirls easily.
· My brownies are hard to bite
They were either overbaked or sliced too soon. Let them cool fully before cutting.
· I did not get a shiny top
The sugar and eggs were not mixed enough. Whisk until the batter looks thick and glossy before adding the dry ingredients.
· Storage
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the fridge for up to 5 days. These brownies also freeze well for up to 2 months.
